UNLV Capstone Project – Eco-Pop

Final Logo – Designed in Illustrator

Topic:

With the recent widespread popularity of K-pop around the world comes a much larger demographic of people bulk purchasing multiple copies of the same albums solely for its benefits. This leaves fans with very little options of ways to properly dispose of these large amounts of extra albums. The album being the ticket to benefits, such as exclusive photocards and fan-signs, leaves fans, especially collectors, with very little choice but to give in and purchase more than one set of albums per comeback. Because of this, fans are feeling burnt and stressed out over the excessive amounts of leftover albums they end up having to deal with during the aftermath of their purchases, often dumping off large sums of boxes and leaving them there, creating extra an unnecessary amounts of waste.

Project Thesis:

My goal was to compose a campaign that encourages the reuse of different elements within a K-pop album. I wanted this campaign to motivate people to be creative in ways that are especially personal to them by creating an interactive space geared towards the donation of any unwanted albums by hosting in person events for others to give, receive, and reuse if desired.
